Divinity School

Exclusive Guest Networking Event
Divinity School, Bodleian Library, Oxford
The conference included an exclusive networking event in Oxford University’s breathtaking Divinity School. It served as an exclusive opportunity for select guests to meet one another, continue the discussions sparked in the conference, and a rare chance to converse with Shaykh Hamza and Professor Ramadan in a more intimate setting.
Venue
Adjacent to the Sheldonian Theatre, the Divinity School is renowned for being one of the most spectacular buildings in Oxford. Dating from 1426, the Divinity School forms an integral part of the resplendent Bodleian library, and as such remains the University’s oldest teaching room. Built in the medieval Perpendicular Style and possessing a remarkable lierne vaulted ceiling, it is rightly regarded as a masterpiece of English Gothic architecture. It has since then served a variety of purposes, most notably hosting Charles I’s Parliament during the English Civil War.
The Bodleian Library’s Divinity School was designed specifically for lectures and discussions on Theology, and thus serves as the fitting location for our honoured guests to acquaint themselves with one another, share ideas, and continue deliberating the concept of Islamic Reform, together with Shaykh Hamza Yusuf and Professor Tariq Ramadan.
