Hamza Yusuf

Hamza Yusuf is regarded by many as the single most influential Islamic thinker and speaker in the Western world today. Born in Washington State and raised in Northern California, he became a Muslim in 1977 and subsequently travelled extensively in the Middle East and Africa, studying with some of the world’s greatest Muslim scholars. His years of meticulous traditional study, intellectual rigour, sagacity and eloquence have captivated the attention of audiences across the globe, whilst placing him at the very forefront of Islamic intellectual discourse.
He has advised both the White House and the Arab League, and most recently was a guest speaker at Tony Blair’s Faith Foundation. His publications include: The State We Are In: Identity, Terror and the Law of Jihad (2006) and Agenda to Change Our Condition (2008).
